Financial Assistance

Supporting families, building opportunities, growing the game.

Breaking Down Barriers to Play

We believe every young player deserves the chance to compete and grow through sport, no matter their financial situation. Rising costs have become a serious barrier: nearly 44% of parents in Canada say they cannot afford to register their children in organized sport, and more than 1 in 10 Canadians who don’t participate in sports cite cost as the main reason. At this time our Financial Assistance program is currently available only to families living in specific communities. Iif your postal code is on our service-area list, you’re eligible to reach out and apply for assistance. By offering support, we aim to remove these barriers for families in the communities we currently serve and continue our mission of making sure we reach every child that could benefit from the programming we provide.

Prizes, Services, or Funds - Every Assist Counts

Help us open more doors for local youth. Become a named sponsor—or support as a silent sponsor—and know your gift is creating real opportunities. Not just dollars: we also welcome in-kind support. We’re now seeking prize donations (goods or services) for our 2026 Spring Raffle.

Message from our Assistant Director

When our founder and my dad, Terence Phillips, started this program, his dream was simple: to give every child the chance to experience the joy, lessons, and community that basketball provides. Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand how financial barriers keep too many kids on the sidelines. No family should have to choose between paying bills and letting their child play the sport they love. That’s why our Financial Assistance program exists to make sure cost is never the reason a young athlete misses out. While we can currently only serve select communities, we are committed to growing this support so more families can benefit in the future. Every donation, sponsorship, and show of community support helps us keep the doors open for the next generation of players and leaders!
